What is the PFF Scholarship?
PENANG FUTURE FOUNDATION, made possible by donations from private sectors and individuals, is a scholarship program awarded by the Penang State Government to outstanding and deserving Malaysians to pursue their undergraduate studies in Malaysia.
This is one of the State’s initiatives to stem the tide of brain drain and nurture Penang as a talent hub. While the scholarships are open to all eligible Malaysians regardless of race, religion and gender, preference will be given to outstanding and deserving youths from single, low to middle-income families.
Upon successful completion of studies, the sponsored scholars are required to work in Penang in organizations of their choice, be it in the private or public sector. (Source: PFF Website)
There are two scholarships that you can apply for: the Penang Scholar and the Mutiara Scholar.
Nice! Who can apply for the PFF Scholarship?

The PFF Scholarship is specifically for:
- Malaysian youth aged 25 years or younger
- Undertaking full-time undergraduate studies at public and private universities (IPTA and IPTS) in Malaysia
- Pursuing MQA accredited courses in Science (excluding Medicine), Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Accountancy and Finance
Upon completion of study, the scholars are bound to work in Penang in any organisation of their choice.
Specific Requirements:

| 1. Minimum CGPA of 3.67 in STPM/ Foundation/ Matriculation/ Diploma/ UEC & equivalent
OR Currently pursuing undergraduate course in Malaysia IPT with minimum CGPA of 3.67; |
1. Minimum CGPA of 3.00 in STPM/ Foundation/ Matriculation/ Diploma/ UEC & equivalent
OR Currently pursuing undergraduate course in Malaysia IPT with minimum CGPA of 3.00 |
| 2. Household income not more than RM 15,000 per month (equivalent to RM 180,000 annualized) | 2. Household income not more than RM 5,000 per month (equivalent to RM 60,000 annualized) |
| 3. Malaysian 25 years or younger |
Wow! What does a PFF Scholar recieve?
If you are awarded the Penang Future Foundation Scholarship, you will recieve:

| 1. Living Allowance of RM 1,000 per month (to be paid out quarterly) | 1. Living Allowance of RM 600 per month (to be paid out quarterly) |
| 2. Tuition Fee not exceeding RM 100,000 for entire course (based on actual amount invoiced by university/ pays directly to university) | 2. Tuition Fee not exceeding RM 60,000 for entire course (based on actual amount invoiced by university/ pays directly to university) |
However, the Award only takes effect upon execution of scholarship agreement and does not cover retrospective tuition fee/ living expenses incurred by scholar.
